You can tell SuAn has been through a lot – the harsh, salty climate has definitely left its mark.
In many spots, the paint is peeling like it’s had enough of the constant wind and water. Gabi rolls up her sleeves and gets to work: stripping the old paint down to bare aluminum, sanding until the Alu shines, cleaning, masking, and then priming. Again. And again.

But of course, the weather has other plans. Azorean April lives up to its reputation – just when we think “now’s the time!”, the next rain shower comes marching in. As a bonus, the low-pressure systems toss in a good dose of wind every other day. Fresh paint? Not a fan of rain, unfortunately. So we wait. And wait. Drink coffee. Complain. Checking the weather app. And when the rain is over and the boat is dry again continue at a snail’s pace.

Oh, and about those aluminum termites? After April 1st. they have just disappeared like they never existed.
