First: The new wind generator has three instead of two phases AC, while the old one had DC and a built in regulator. We have to install one additional thick wires from the radar mast though the deck into the aft cabin under the bed until the external regulator. Lutz was afraid to drill a new hole into the deck, but we are lucky and get the new wire through.
Second: We bought a new strong regulator, which finds a place under the bed near to the existing cable. With a remote switch we can break the wind generator in order to manually "switch it off", when we want to.
Third: On top of our radar mast is the pole for the wind generator mounted. But that new wind generator has a different diameter for the connection to the pole. We can solve that problem with a piece of PVC hose as sleeve.
Now the the final assembly to the radar mast is in process and soon the radar mast is standing again with a new black wind turbine on top of it.
We hope the new wind generator together with our solar cells will provide enough power to recharge our batteries sufficiently.
