According to our plan we would be on the way to Vanuatu with an ETA Friday, August 15. However Gabi found out that this day is a public holiday in Vanuatu. It is not advisable to arrive outside of the working hours since that is subject to pay the overtime charges for the officials on checking in. This could be a substantial fee. In order to avoid this we decided to postpone our departure to arrive on Monday morning.
Still using the protection of New Caledonia´s coastal area we went in to the very scenic bay ”Baie de Tare”. This place is located just north of the Havannah Passage. The narrow entrance need to be navigated with special care. Once we have been inside we have been rewarded with one of the most beautiful bays we have visited in Neukaledonia.
