Mussel Farming

The coast line around Coromandel Harbour consists of many bays and islands, which provide good shelter for mussel farms. A whole fleet of special ships are moored in the harbour and leave every morning to the floating farms. There is a mussel factory close by where those mussels and also farmed oysters are processed. It seems to us like that is the main source of income for the people living here.
