Ko Pan Yi is the most northern island in the Phang Nga Bay which we visit with SuAn. It is also the end of the river delta, which is covered in mangrove swamps, if the steep limestone rocks don´t grow out of the water directly.

In order to explore the river delta we take the dinghy with rising tide upriver in Klong Raya and after high tide down river in Klong Pan Yi. Unfortunately high tide is shortly after noon and the heat is unforgivable. We seek shelter in a little natural ”harbor” within the mangroves. There is no shore to be seen. Mangroves with wet feet in the river water are everywhere. We brought some picnic for lunch and wonder how many eyes are watching us. We only see occasionally some sea birds flying over the water.
