We had a great time in Fiji, but it was to short. Anyhow we have to escape the cyclone season and reach Australia before end of November.

At 6 a.m. we leave our anchorage at Lautoka. Before we set sails we have to clean the mud from the anchor chain and the dust from deck. There is no rain today so we have to use sea water. Only the windows and solar cells are cleaned with fresh water.

5 hours later we reach the pass in the reef which surrounds Vitu Levu and the western islands of Fiji. Now 450 nm of deep water lie ahead until Tanna, the southern volcanic island of Vanuatu. Slowly Fiji´s islands disappear in the clouds at the horizon.
