The British Virgin Islands (BVI) are a very attractive cruising ground. Lots of scenic islands offering beautiful beaches and azure water are only half a day cruise apart. The trade wind is blowing quite constant. Unfortunately this is not exactly a secrete anymore, on the contrary, every nice anchorage is already packed with countless charter boats, mostly large, luxury catamarans. Never before we saw so many charter boats in such a small area. Clever business men, covered potential anchor spots completely with moorings and charge USD 40 per night. For us it was a challenge to find a spot to anchor and sometimes we had to give up. It might be no surprise that the general price level is also quite high.

So it is not too difficult for us to lift our anchor and watch how Road Town (here we cleared out) slowly becomes smaller behind our stern.

Ahead of us are 844 nautical miles until Bermuda, our next destination. We are relieved that ”NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL” announces today that ”Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days”.
