With a gentle sway, she’s lifted by the crane’s hook, muddy river water streaming down her hull in thin rivulets. All around, the yard is buzzing with activity; it’s already packed with boats that will spend the winter safely on land.
Before SuAn can settle into her berth ashore, she needs a thorough wash – her hull will be blasted clean of the season’s growth with high-pressure water. The once-bright red of the antifouling paint is barely visible now. Barnacles, algae, and a thick carpet of green and brown soon will give way under the powerful spray.
