Passage to the Caribbean
This passage brings us from the Northeast of Brazil all the way to the Caribbean. With 1955 nautical miles is is the longest leg since crossing the Indian Ocean. This route takes us around Cabo De Sao Ruge and Cabo Calcanhar and follows mostly the South-American north coast in a distance of 50 to 100 nautical miles.
At the begin of the passage we need to go through the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) where we expect light winds and very unpleasant weather. A little later we will reach the Trade Winds north of the Equator where sailing should become nice again.
