This weekend, it´s finally happening: the annual meeting of our Trans-Ocean club is taking place in Cuxhaven, and we´re absolutely thrilled—it´s our first time attending! The event promises to be not only entertaining and well-organized but also something truly special for us.
We are deeply honored to be receiving the Circumnavigators´ Award! This prestigious recognition will be presented to four crews, including us, who successfully completed their circumnavigations this year. It´s a moment of immense pride for us.
But that´s not all: We could not believe what we hear when the jury also awarded us the Trans-Ocean Award! Trans-Ocean reports:
"The most significant award in German offshore sailing, the Trans-Ocean Award for the most outstanding sailing voyage, goes this year to Gabriele and Lutz Pestel from Chemnitz. What began as a planned four-year circumnavigation evolved into the ´World-Sailing Project´ during which they logged nearly 85,000 nautical miles."
