The wind is dropping and Yanmar San has to help pushing SuAn the last miles during the night to the safe harbour.

We are very lucky to witness a very seldom spectacle at the night sky. The full moon starts to change its shape until it is completely covered by the shadow of the earth and turns red before it slowly appears again to look bright and round. Unfortunately it is not possible to take a good picture from a rolling boat.

Exactly at midnight we drop anchor in Purau Bay, a side bay of Lyttelton Harbour after we have passed through the lights which are marking the entrance to the port. One year ago we have anchored at the same spot and the moon and radar were helping to avoid the moored yachts in that bay. We are happy to have arrived after a quite pleasant trip to New Zealand´s third important city.

The next day we take a photo of Lyttelton Harbour from Mt. Pleasant with a view to Purau Bay in the left of the picture.
