But, as often happens, things don´t go quite as planned: the jib won’t slide up properly in the groove of the furling system. It’s stuck.
So Lutz heads up the mast and lowers himself along the forestay to inspect the problem. Just as we suspected, two of the connecting screws between the individual sections are loose and sticking out slightly into the groove, blocking the sail’s path. Fortunately, it’s an easy fix — tighten the set screws and secure them with Loctite.
A short time later, SuAn is fully rigged with all three sails, ready for her next voyage. Now all we need is the right weather!
