The last 45 nautical miles we are sailing through the Hervey bay to the South East. Our destination is Bundaberg.
This is the end of our Pacific crossing. We sailed from Panama to here about 8400 nautical miles and visited 7 countries in 7 month.

Over VHF CH 81 we call Volunteer Marine Rescue (Coastguard) and getting the instruction to dock in the Bundaberg Port Marina to the custom dock.

A short time later we are boarded by two officers form the quarantine department. There purpose is to ensure that no one brings any foreign bugs or diseases in to Australia. Since we have timber in the vessel we are declared a high risk vessel and the officers start to look in every corner and even below the floorboards for termites and other nasty bugs. Now we have an official confirmation: SuAn is free of insects. Then they started to inspect all our food stuff. There are lots of restrictions applied. E.g. one can not bring any fresh meet, eggs, egg products, fruits, vegetables and plenty of other things in to Australia. We had to dispose half a cabbage, little garlic, some dried pepper and some lentils in the yellow bio hazard bag.

Even before the quarantine officers left, the immigration and custom officers boarded our vessel. They worked very professional and are extremely friendly.

Now we have officially arrived in Australia.
