Passage to New Zealand

The more than 1000 nautical miles long passage from the tropical islands to New Zealand is relatively demanding, since it is crossing the tracks of the depressions. The likelyhood that sailing vessels are caught in a storm is relatively high. One should study the weather development in the Southern Pacific very carefully in order to find a weather window with low storm probability.
